I have just come into the funds needed to rebuild my 98 tacoma regular cab 2.7L 4x4, and was considering a 2jz-gte twin turbo from a late model supra MKIV. The local toyota shop says I'm crazy and it will never work because I won't be able to hook up a tranny to the 2jz and my transfer case. Some expert advice on trannys and transfer cases would be much appreciated.
Also I see that most of you run the 7mgte, would this be a better swap? And is the 7mgte capable of producing the power the 2jz-gte is known for?
Thank you for your time. |
