I've also been thinking, that it would be interesting to see what a carbed 7M would be like.....
I've been wondering what a triple side-draught set up would be like......
kinda like the old Datsun Z-motors......
Interesting that Toyota never made a multi-carb performance I6 like that....(that I know of)...
I think it would make for an interesting set-up.....wonder what the performance would be like?
probably wouldnt be worth doing in an off-road application, tho.... |

I know they did make a multi carb engine, I am just not sure off the top of my head. I know you can get a dual carb side draft for the 1.6L 4A motors.
But, you are looking at a decrease in peformance and gas mileage if you want to go carbed. You might gain a little more low end torque, but overall, you would suffer. It would be really interesting to see though. I am sure you could modify the Datsun setup to bolt up to a 7M. No need for the ECU anymore, just have to figure out how to get the sparks. _________________ Supra Swapper and Owner of this site |

Hey, youre right! I shoulda known....
Toyota/Yamaha DOHC I6 with 3 Solex/Mikuni 40PHH's....
1988cc (2.0L)...Huh....Known as the 3M....
Interesting....A square-bore motor...75mm x 75mm (3.0" x 3.0")...Guess thats where the nice torque rating comes from...
Wow!...Looks like max HP is rated at 8100RPM!....And max torque at 7000RPM!
Wonder what the redline was?....
Like i said, i know the numbers for a carbed 7MG would be lower than a 7MGE, but i bet would still be very impressive, and cool to see "Just Because!"...LOL |
