just want to tell a few things i learned during my 7mgte conversion, one is if you want to bolt up a 7mgte to a 4runner(85 model) in australia the 5mge mounts will not work......you will have to custom make some mounts which is pretty easy anyway and dont try to attempt to make them with the engine in,use a block thats been stripped of the heads e.t.c so its easier to work around,i used the 7mgt rubbers and the 3y(old engine) engine mounts..i had to cut and modify these mounts to suit the different angle and height and hole spacing but with a trusty angle grinder,a drill and a welder it shouldnt take to long.the good part is the australian model 4 runner has heaps of firewall clearance so you wont need to bash the crap out of it.also in the swap you may have trouble with the power steering pump not having enough adjustment, you can remedy this by making the engine mounts high enough to clear the steering box.(the aircond fits well with heaps of room)my 4 runner has aftermarket springs so the oil pan had plenty of room but this is another factor to take into consideration when building the mounts...the end result is well worth any hassle you may have an there is more than enough information on this forum to easily solve any problem that may arise, good luck and have fun.. _________________ never trust a woman, mine just cheated after 3.5yrs,didnt suspect a thing. |

Because the Aussie and Euro 4 cylinder vehicles have a 4Y versus a 22R-E series engine. The motor mounts are not the same as vehicles equipped with the 22R-E |
