I was driving down the highway and the code started flashing. 42 Vehicle speed sensor, and 51 AC

Then engine started to cut out at high RPM, and come back to life about 1200. Would rev fine, just not under load.

Now it won't start

BTW it was raining hard, but I did run across Fordyce at 36" or so. That was years ago, and havn't had trouble from water before

It Lives. I left the lights on, so I charged the battery. Now it starts. Took it for a drive and it runs fine. I am now thinking it was a water issue. the body is starting to rust out, and there is a hole by the grommet in the inner fender. And I don't have the inner fenders on anyway. Maybe water got in there and shorted the computer. Strange indeed.

YIKES!!!!

You could silicon up the ECU. I recommend this if the truck will see a lot of off-road use.
