Hey, I'm using the w56 tranny stock bolt up and I was wundering how much room I will have from the engine to the closest part of the frame to get a better idea of how deep of a fan I might be able to get. I'm waiting on the engine to get built and have nothing to measure from. I have the radiator pushed into the cross support about 3/4" and was able to save my original hood latch location. Intercooler is in front of the radiator.
Thanks for your input.

hmm, I don't have a vehicle nearby that used the stock tranny mounts. I am sure there is someone here that does though.

Anybody?

i didnt measure it out that way, but the W56 behind my 7mgte bolts right into the stock crossmember location. You want the distance from the belts to the front cross part of the frame?

exactly 4 inches from the end of the crank pulley to the frame. I plan on cutting the body and mounting the radiator over where the frame is now, and using that 4inches clearance for electric fans and still have over an inch of clearance to the motor, then either put the intercooler infront of the radiator, or top mount it and do a hood scoop

Thanks alot, my intercooler from a volvo with 2 1/2 pipes is sitting almost flush with the front of the front of the frame. The body mount on the passanger side had to be chopped because the steering box.The radiator then sits about 3/16" away from the intercooler and is about 3/4" into the top part of the body by the hood latch.Had to notch the hood out for the radiator cap and part of the top of the radiator. A 2" fan should fit pretty tight in there. Thanks again
