Thought this might be usefull for some ppl doing a 5MGE swap into a solid axle truck. This is to mate the 7MGE oil pump to the 5M block.

why would you need a seal for the mounting surface? theres no oil presure going any where around there... goes in the pickup, out the brass tube into the block...

Yeah, but if you suck in air...well, you don't want air bubbles in your oil.

still don't see how that would allow more or any air in the oil as opposed to the stock setup... its exactly the same, just a different mounting orientation

look at post #20 it shows where the plate sits..

Hmm, don't have an account on black flag...but in thinking, I think you are right. That is just for mounting, the pump, the oil is fed through a different line, and the pickup is mounted to the pump.
